I believe that there is an opportunity here
because there are actual facts and numbers behind it. Baby boomers aren’t
retiring because they aren’t prepared, don’t have enough money, are still in
debt, and they underestimated their health care needs. This suggest that there
is an opportunity to create awareness about saving money for retirement and how
to give yourself the opportunity to retire and live a happy and stable rest of
your life.

I think the prototypical customer are those in
the next few generations. Mainly the Millennials and Generation Z. It may already
be too late to help generation X, but we can try.
d)
Hard or easy to exploit: I think it is relatively
hard to exploit because people don’t like to think and plan for the future that
is years away. It will also be hard to convince and show them how important a
good retirement plan really is. They will also realize that they have to work a
lot harder if they want to be set up for life after work.

I saw this opportunity because my 80-year-old grandma
is still having to work because she doesn’t have a good retirement plan. I
personally, don’t know much about retiring and how it all works. I think other
people can see this opportunity if they are willing to think about their future
and start planning for it now.
#2: Economic
Trend: FedEx is hiring a total of 20,000 people in 2018

I believe that there is an opportunity here because
there are always unemployed people looking for a new job. Those unemployed
people can easily apply to FedEx for any type of position.

The prototypical customer is anyone looking for
a job.
d)
Hard or easy to exploit: I think it is
relatively easy to exploit because all you have to do it apply for the job and
wait to see if you get it.
· I saw this opportunity because one of my
really good family friend is unemployed and is looking for a job. I was
researching jobs and this one popped up. More than one person can see this
opportunity. Places hiring new people is a pretty clear opportunity for anyone
to see, especially the unemployed.
#3: Regulatory
Changes: The opportunity for anyone in one state with a concealed carry permit,
to be able to carry their weapon in another state.
b)
I believe that there is an opportunity here,
although it has not been passed, because there are so many people worried about
school shootings, mass shootings, etc. that there has been so much debate and
talk about how lives could have been saved if people were allowed to carry
their guns. This is extremely controversial, but I do believe an opportunity
exist to fulfill a wide range of needs people have about their safety.

I think the prototypical customers, should this
be passed, is anyone who has a concealed carry permit.
d)
Hard or easy to exploit: I think this is
relatively hard to exploit because there is so much controversy happening in
the world in regard to guns and their usage. Some people think there should be
stricter rules in place to get your hands on one, while others think they
should be able to carry their guns to protect themselves and those around them
if an incident were to occur.

I saw this opportunity because there has sadly
been so many deaths relating to mass shootings, and something needs to be done.
This could possible help people who find themselves in a bad situation. It won’t
solve anywhere close to all of the problems this country has with gun laws and
how easy it is for someone to get ahold of one, but it could help to save lives
in some situations. I believe that more than one person can see this
need/opportunity.
#4: Regulatory
Changes: The opportunity to provide and make improvements to rivers and
harbors around the United states, as well as, conserve and clean water.

I believe that there is an opportunity here,
although it has not been passed, because water is so important to everything
and everyone around us and we need to make improvements and provide a chance
for water resource developments. The opportunity exists to fulfill the unmet
need of clean drinking water and rivers because of Saltwater intrusion.
c)
I think the prototypical customer are people,
wildlife, animals, etc. Really anyone and anything that drinks, lives, or
relies on water.
d)
Hard or easy to exploit: I think it is relatively
easy to exploit. I believe this because everyone needs water to survive and we
need to keep making improvements on our harbors and rivers around the world for
the wildlife and our drinking water.

I saw this opportunity because for the previous assignment
I read an article about the saltwater intrusion along the cost, inland cities,
and rivers in the United States. With that fresh on my mind, I came across this
Act. I honestly don’t think that the majority would see the same opportunity
that I would. If I hadn’t read the article about saltwater intrusion, I would
have passed right by this and wouldn’t have thought anything of it. However,
now saltwater intrusion and the safety of clean drinking water and the protection
of our rivers is very interesting and important to me.
