Reflection:
While reading the comments I realized that I may have spoken
a little too fast at some parts in my speech. While watching it back, I can see
what parts I spoke faster and what parts were slower. This feedback is
extremely helpful because I want people to be able to clearly understand me in
my speech. I was surprised how much
people liked my story in the beginning. They said they were able to really
connect to my speech and it drew them in. I thought this was extremely useful
information, because I wasn’t so sure about providing a story in the beginning.
I also thought that the feedback related to my fact was extremely helpful. Once
again, I wasn’t sure if I could include a fact or how much it would help my
speech, but after reading the comments I think the fact is now a crucial part
of my speech. It really legitimizes my proposal and proved my point. I also got
great feedback on how I really engaged my audience and used good facial
expressions, body language, and hand gestures. Overall, I got great feedback
that was really useful and insightful. Nothing said was wrong or silly. I
really appreciated the help and hope I improved.
What did I change:
Based on my feedback, I really didn’t change much. One thing I made sure to do was talk slower, but not too slow, so that everyone could understand me. I made sure to keep a story in the beginning and the fact in the middle because I got great feedback on those two things. Although this wasn’t included in my feedback, I did include the price for my app in this speech. I failed to include it in the first and know it’s very important to mention so I did.

Hi, Natalie! This elevator pitch was solid! Just like last time, I loved the story and fact in the middle. Most of all, I loved how expressive you were! You looked confident and the whole thing flowed perfectly. I also liked the addition of the price, and I recommend keeping it for next time. This was a great improvement from your last pitch, and I thought that one was good, too.
ReplyDeleteNatalie-
ReplyDeleteI believe you took the feedback you received from us and excelled! I could understand you a lot better, the lighting in the room was better, and including the price of your app added more clarity as to what benefits the consumer is paying for. It’s always interesting how such small changes can have such a huge impact on delivery of a speech. Keep it up, we are almost done!
