Five ways in which I
think I have Human Capital:
1.
Passion: I am extremely passionate about
everything that I do. When doing something whether it be at work, or school, or
really anything, I put everything I have into it. I really think that my
passion for things that I do and care about really shows and it helps me
connect to people around me.
2.
Caring: I care so much about everyone around me
and always put others needs in front of my own. It’s not just people, I care so
much about school and work. Somethings I feel as if I care too much, and it can
lead to me being extremely frustrated.
3.
Hard working: I feel like I am one of the
hardest working people I know. I am always studying, doing school work, working
out, or working at Sun Country Gymnastics (this is where I work every single
day, 35 hours a week). I never stop. I am consistently trying to get better,
learn something new, or improve my coaching skills.
4.
Leader: I always find myself leading the pack. I
enjoy being in charge and in control of everything going on. I am not afraid to
tell people what needs to be done. I like to get things done efficiently and
correctly, and the way I am able to do this is by taking charge and being a
leader. I am also a leader in the since that I make good choices every day and am
a great role model.
5.
Achiever: I always give everything my all. I want
to succeed in life and everything that I do. I am extremely determined to
achieve anything and everything I put my mind to.
Interviews:
1.
Gary Hoffmann – dad: My biggest takeaway from
this interview is the fact that my dad mentioned how I attack anything that comes my
way, I’m very specific, I always give everything my all, and I give great
attention to detail on everything that I do. My dad and I are so much alike and
I feel like he really gets me.
2. Michelle Hoffmann – mom: My biggest takeaway
from my mom’s video is how she mentioned that I handle my emotions by calling
her and venting or crying to her. She also mentioned that I never give up on
anything and that she sees me as a hardworking, caring, funny, and loveable
person.
3.
Ashley Hoffmann – sister: My biggest takeaway
from this interview was how my sister also mentions that I don’t handle my
emotions all that great. She did say that I handle my emotions differently
depending on the situation. She also mentioned that I call my mom a lot and can
be pretty annoying.
4.
Brandon Turnage – boyfriend: My biggest takeaway
from this interview is that when I’m stressed out my emotions can really
change. When I have a lot of pressure on me, I tend to let my emotions get away
from me. Brandon mentioned that I am a great team player and am a great leader.
He says that I’m not afraid to tell people what I want or what needs to be done.
5.
Mary Carlson – friend: My biggest takeaway from
this interview is that I have a compassionate personality. Mary mentions that I
feel feelings a lot. If I’m happy then I’m happy, if I’m sad then I’m really
sad, etc. She also mentioned that I try so hard in everything that I do and
that I care a lot about the people in my life.
Reflection:
I think that the way my family/friends view me is very
similar to the way I view myself. They mentioned me being caring, passionate, a
leader, and hardworking, which is exactly how I see myself. I was very
surprised that 3 of the 5 people I interviewed mentioned how I don’t handle my
emotions very well. I feel as if I keep things inside (like my dad said) but if
I let my emotions out I let them out to my mom. I feel like my mom and sister
think I don’t handle my emotions as well because I do call my mom all the time
to vent, talk, or cry. But, I feel like that is completely normal and other
then talking to my mom I really do keep my emotions inside. I have learned
through these interviews, that sometimes my emotions can be expressed through
my facial expressions. Mary mentioned that I feel feelings a lot and although I
don’t talk about those feelings ever, you can still see them through my face
and body language. Overall, I believe that everyone I interviewed was correct
about me. I wasn’t surprised that my family and friends were able to describe
me so well because they are the ones who know me the best. Sometimes I feel
like they may know me better than I know myself. With this, I would not make
any corrections to my previous list.
Hi Natalie
ReplyDeleteAwesome work gathering these interviews! I'm glad to see that you maintain the same positive view of yourself as your friends and family. Leadership and emotional intelligence are absolutely key to being a successful entrepreneur and it sounds like you are very effective with both. Combining this with your determined work ethic will result in a complete recipe for success with your new business model.
I think it is great that after the interviews you made no changes to your list. I also find myself caring too much at times, but I think it is a great attribute to a person in all areas of life. Being a leader will be beneficial to you when pursuing careers because that means you also have time-management and great people skills. I enjoyed learning more about you.
